WWII - Cultural Tour

Sat, 6 March; 7:45 am;
$15.00 p/p; $12.00 club member.
A guided tour by our own very know-ledgeable Ray Stiers - an absolute must while on Guam. The island is rife with history and over the years was occupied and/or claimed by many countries. Bring money for lunch. Minimum age is 5 years. No difficulty rating.

Double Reef Beach
and Tweed's Cave ****

Sat, 13 Mar; 7:45 am; $5.00 p/p
One of the most remote beaches on Guam. This 2.4 mile hike will take us through a rugged limestone forest, with an awesome variety of local plants and vegetation. During the hike we will explore some small caves including Tweed’s cave. This cave is named after Navy Radioman George Tweed who hid in this cave from the Japanese occupation force for two years. Upon reaching the beach, water conditions permitting, hikers may enjoy the cool waters and swim/snorkel or just relax. Bring sturdy hiking shoes, water, and sunscreen. Swim/snorkel gear is optional. Minimum age is 12 years.

Sigua Falls *****

Sun, 21 Mar; 7:45 am; $5.00 p/p
This difficult rated adventure takes you to one of the most secluded and impressive waterfalls on Guam. The 6.5 mile hike will move you from open savannah to thick jungles. Please bring lunch and plenty of water. Minimum age is 15.

Fonte Dam ***

Sun, 21 Mar; 7:45 am; $5.00 p/p
Experiencing this dam and its gorgeous settings during this hike is truly a surreal experience. A picturesque spill way overflows against imported red brick, among a back drop of lush wild jungle. Imagine how strange it must seem to be trekking through natural jungle growth until suddenly a vast manmade structure appears before you in the midst of what seems a completely uncivilized area. Constructed in 1910 under President Taft to supply the city of Hagatna with water, this historic landmark is just one of Guam's many hidden treasures. Minimum age is 8 years.

NOTE: Please bring plenty of water, food, sunscreen, bug repellant, and a camera. For hikes taking you to caves or beaches, bring snorkel gear, swim suit, towel, water shoes, and whatever it takes to make you feel comfortable and ensure a most pleasant experience.
